Aberdeen Climate Action (ACA) is a non profit organisation run by a small team of volunteers. Our aim is to raise awareness of climate change and prompt action towards carbon reduction and living sustainably.
Due to the change in data protection law; the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we would like to make you aware of how we use and store your personal data. Aberdeen Climate Action is regarded as a data controller.
What Information do we collect?
We only collect information you provide to us – your name and email address.
How do we use your personal information?
ACA use a mailing list service, Mail Chimp to promote upcoming events and climate change information/ ACA information by e-newsletters. We also retain emailing lists in our private email account.
Who has access to my personal information?
The secretary and publicity team (processors) are the only ones that have access to your personal data.

How long do we keep your information?
You are able to unsubscribe from the e-newsletter updates at any time by clicking ‘unsubscribe from this list’ at the bottom of the email. You may also email Alison: email@example.com to unsubscribe. Under GDPR law we are required to gain consent for the usage of your data, which we will retain until you ask us to unsubscribe you or we cease to send out email updates.
How will we contact you?
We will only ever contact you through email.
How do we handle your information and other organisations?
We do not pass on or sell your information in any way.
